The Chairman, House Committee on Public Private Partnership (PPP) and representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), has been honoured with the 2024 Community Leadership and Youth Empowerment Award by the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (USA), Nigeria Chapter.
The award was presented during the 10th annual gathering of the prestigious institute in Abuja, on Friday. The event was attended by dignitaries from various sectors, including AMA Smile Foundation Team, government officials, business leaders and members of civil society.
Hon. Aro was honoured for his dedication to empowering the youths and supporting local communities through various initiatives, including educational sportsmanship, skill acquisition programs, sports development, and cooperative support for women entrepreneurs.
The Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (USA), Nigeria Chapter, is an organization committed to promoting ethical leadership and governance in Nigeria. Its annual recognition program honors individuals and institutions that have demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to societal progress.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Abiodun expressed gratitude to the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance, for the recognition.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Lagos State and beyond, emphasizing the need for continued efforts in uplifting underserved communities.
“I dedicate this award to the resilient youths and women of Ikorodu Constituency II, whose determination fuels my drive for service,” he said.
“This honor is a reminder of the work we’ve done and the work that still lies ahead. Together, we will build stronger communities and brighter futures”, he said.
Hon. Abiodun, in his capacity as a representative of the people, has been using his position to champion initiatives that empower and develop youths and women, bringing development and promoting unity. He has also being using his position as the Chairman, House Committee on PPP, to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors for sustainable development.
